Weight Loss
When a person is dieting, they are attempting to reduce their body mass and weight by getting rid of excess adipose tissue, body fat, and fluids. This is referred to as weight loss and is the obvious goal of dieting. The true purpose of weight loss is to improve one’s appearance, fitness, and health. Therapeutic (or prescribed) weight loss normally targets individuals who are overweight or even obese as a preventative health measure. Chronic obesity will oftentimes lead to the onset of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, or stroke. It can also lead to a variety of cancers as well.
Weight loss plans that are tailored to the individual can be recommended by physicians or personnel at various weight loss clinics. Basically, weight loss occurs when a person is in a balanced state of negative energy. In other words, the human body is expending more energy than it is gaining from the intake of food and/or nutritional supplements. It “catabolises” or breaks down the stored reserves of fat in the body’s muscles or tissues. Despite the fact that weight loss involves the reduction of fat, fluids, and muscle, its purpose should target losing only fat while trying to conserve fluids and muscles.
